Instagram Dropped Two Updates - Grid Control + A Paid Tier

You Can Finally Reorder Your Instagram Grid

What happened:

Instagram rolled out its Grid Reorder feature globally on June 8, 2026. You can now long-press any post on your profile, drag it wherever you want, and your feed rearranges - no deleting, no reposting, no losing your likes or comments.

Why it matters to you:

Your Instagram profile is basically your portfolio. And for years, it was stuck in chronological order meaning your oldest, cringe-worthy posts lived right there, unmovable. Now you can put your best work front and center, create themed layouts, build aesthetic grids for campaigns, or just clean things up without starting over.

Your engagement metrics stay untouched. It's purely a visual update but a powerful one.

How to use it:

Go to your profile → long-press any post → tap "Reorder grid" → drag and drop → done. Changes are saved instantly.

Instagram Plus Is Now a Thing ($3.99/month)

What happened:

Instagram launched its first-ever paid subscription tier - Instagram Plus globally on June 4, 2026, priced at $3.99/month. The core app stays free. This is just an optional upgrade.

Why it matters to you:

The features are very story-heavy and honestly pretty useful for creators tracking engagement:

  • Story Rewatch Insights - see the total number of times your story has been rewatched overall
  • Search Viewer List - search your story viewers to check if a specific account saw your content
  • Unlimited Audience Lists - create multiple story audience segments beyond just Close Friends
  • 48-Hour Story Extension - keep stories up longer than the standard 24 hours
  • Post Without Appearing in Feed - gives your stories priority placement
  • Pin up to 6 Posts - double the current 3-post pin limit
  • Custom Bio Font + App Icon - minor but fun aesthetic flexes

Meta also mentioned that creator-specific subscription plans are being tested under its new "Meta One" umbrella - so more creator tools could be coming.

That's your Instagram update for the week. Two features, more control, same app. Go reorder that grid.
